What to Look Out for When Buying Polaris Ranger Electrical Replacement Parts?

Electrical Replacement Upgrades vs Electrical Replacement Parts

When deciding between electrical replacement upgrades or just replacement parts for your Polaris Ranger, you need to keep a few things in mind.

First of all, an upgraded electrical system only makes sense if it is actually going to be tested to the fullest of its ability.

This usually means that, in the future, you are likely going to upgrade certain Polaris Ranger systems which could increase the load on your electrical system.

For example, if you plan on investing in lots of electrical accessories such as lights, winches, fans, and audio systems, you should indeed upgrade your electrical system to cope with that and to futureproof your electricals.

On the other hand, if other upgrades are more important to you than electrical accessories, you should skip upgrading your electrical system for now.

OEM vs Aftermarket Parts

OEM parts are what most people believe is the best option to go for if you are not planning to upgrade your electrical system in the process.

This is because OEM parts are made by the same manufacturer who provided the original part to the Polaris Ranger and thus these parts are designed to fit a Ranger like a snug glove fits a hand.

However, that is not always the best option to go for because some aftermarket companies do overengineer their parts and thus make them better than OEM parts in many categories, with the added price hike, of course.

So, it would be a good idea to go for OEM in areas where you want added reliability but go for higher-end aftermarket parts where you want to add performance and flexibility.

Warranty

There is a big difference between a Polaris Ranger electrical replacement part and a mechanical replacement part because mechanical parts usually aren’t as sensitive which means that electrical parts are more often prone to issues even before installation.

As such, it’s important to go for replacement parts that come with decent warranty coverage, especially because some of these can cost a lot of money.

However, before pulling the trigger and buying your replacement parts, be sure to understand the warranty terms and any conditions or limitations that may apply.
