Loyd Ivey founded Matrecs in 1971 after he began assembling speakers in his garage. In 1979, when the company was acquired by the Mitek Consumer Electronics Group, the name officially changed to MTX Audio in 1983. Ever since, the company has been manufacturing some of the best audio equipment, for applications such as marine, home, car, and street audio. MTX Audio currently supports the Polaris and Arctic Cat platforms.
